On December 4th 2021, DOC NC had a unique opportunity to learn about sustainability through gardening at the garden on Town Hall drive in Morrisville. The members engaged in an exciting and interactive activity to help the gardeners clean the weeds and trash around the plants. The volunteers were responsible for making the garden appealing to visitors. At the end of the event, Mayor TJ Cawley made a special appearance to thank the DOC NC volunteers for their work on the garden and their enthusiasm in spreading the word for sustainability in Morrisville and other areas of the Triangle. 

All in all, this event encouraged gardening not only as a way to help the environment but also as a lifestyle that can be easily implemented and maintained to the people of Morrisville and to the DOC NC members. All the members took away key lessons from this activity that will be used in upcoming events.
