DOC NC is collaborating with “The Triangle Nonprofit & Volunteer Leadership Center Organization to give DOC members the opportunity to participate in their summer camps at a discounted price. DOC NC will provide a 50% reimbursement to high school children who would like to participate in the summer camps. 

There are three different types of camps offered: the IMPACT camp, the Civic Engagement Leadership Institute, and the Model UN week. 

The Impact Camp provides high school aged youth with an affordable, local week community service experience. Students participating in the program spend Monday thru Friday on a supervised team working on a variety of service projects. 

The Civic Engagement Leadership Institute explores with high school aged students the root causes of social issues, works with nonprofit agencies, and formulates service projects to combat these issues. 

Model UN week is basically when high school aged students participate in a Mock Model UN and settle issues across different foreign platforms using diplomatic debate skills, public speaking skills, and more. The Model UN week is facilitated with assistance from UNC-Chapel Hill.
