Every year, DOC NC members of all different ages meet up together and host the Senior Luncheon. This event was created to appreciate the work that seniors have done to contribute to our community and the guidance they have given us throughout. At this year’s event, DOCNC members served the seniors, kept the place tidy, and managed different factions of the event. To get the area organized, DOC NC members went to work as they diligently set the tables and tablecloths neatly and other table decorations were placed in a way that made the area appear more fashionable. As the seniors arrived, DOCNC members greeted them at the doors and directed them to the photobooth. At the photobooth, they posed for pictures and were given a printed version to keep as a keepsake. We served choice drinks and appetizers. After they arrived, we had a few games, such as “Guess the Song”. The young emcees did an exceptional job of announcing events and hosting small, lighthearted discussions on stage. After DOCNC members served the seniors dinner and cake, we had a mini-concert hosted by local singers. The seniors danced and had fun, and after the seniors left, the place was restored to its original form. This was a great opportunity to show our senior community love and care, and show them gratitude for all they have taught us.
